Fell March 11, 1967

Gary was born on the 14th of November, 1946 to Richard and Dorothy Friedmann of Lebanon.  He was active in the Boy Sciuts of America being affiliated with Troop 47 from St. Paul's United Bethodist Church.  While a member of Troop 47 he was inducted into the Order of The Arrow.  He attended Lebanon area schools graduating from Lebanon Senior High School in 1964.  He was active in track, and lettered in Varsity football.  His interests also went to the arts as he loved the varied forms of music.  After graduation he was employed by the Bell Telephone Company.

He enlisted in the Navy in April of 1966.  After attending training schools he reported for duty in Vietnam on the 4th of March, 1967.  He fell just seven days after reporting for duty in Vietnam as a result of a premature explosion of faulty ammunition while participating in a training exercise aboard his river patrol boat.

He was awarded the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.  He also received the Vietnam Campaign Medal from the Republic of Vietnam.

He was survived by his parents; a brother, Donald; and a sister, Karen.
