Fell June 24, 1967

Harold was bor on the 24th of March, 1948 to George and Grace Nye.  He grew up in the Lebanon city area and attended Lebanon High School.  He was employed by Bogene Textiles prior to his enlistment in the Marines in October, 1966.

After his training he arrived in Vietnam and was assigned to Company D, 11th Engineer Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. 

He fell as a result of neck wounds suffered from an non-hostile accidental shooting on an ambush while on duty.

He was awarded the Purple Heart, the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal  from the United States.  He also received the Vietnam Campaign Medal from the Republic of Vietnam.

Besides his parents he was survived by brothers, Leonard, Wayne, John, Marlin and Donald; and a sister, Lorraine
