Fell January 25, 1967

Born in Lebanon on the 30th of July, 1946, William was the son of William and Margaret Seubert Guseman, Jr.  After his early years in Lebanon, the family moved to Finleyville in the south western part of Pennsylvania.  While there he attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, was a member of Troop 567 of the Boy Scouts of America and in 1964, was the first in his Troop to attain the rank of Eaglr Scout.

He enlisted in the Marines on the 29th of July, 1965 and arrived in Vietnam on the 5th of October, 1066.  He was assigned to Company H, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment of the 1st Marine Division.  He was in-country four months serving as a scout for his unit when he fell as a result of having tripped a land mine.

He was awarded the Purple Heart, the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.  He also received the Vietnam Campaign Medal from the Republic of Vietnam.

Besides his parents he was survived by a brother, Michael; and two sisters, Regina and Mary Adele.  A number of aunts and uncles still live in the Lebanon area.
